iENSO Opens Office in Israel

By Joel Davies -

iENSO, a provider of embedded vision data systems, has formalized its Israel office as the company’s hub for Cloud development and integration.

Established in 2003, iENSO is a Canadian company that designs, builds and integrates custom vision and multi-sensor systems for companies that need to embed cameras, sensing capability, image processing, Edge AI, and cloud services capabilities in their products.

iENSO’s Israel-based engineering and development team will help expand the company’s capabilities as a turnkey solution provider, focusing on integration and optimization of the Edge to Cloud connection. This new location builds on the company’s existing operations in North America (the HQ in Toronto, Canada), Asia (Shenzhen, China), and Europe (Kyiv, Ukraine).

“Cloud processing is an integral part of a complete embedded vision system, and we wanted to dedicate the best people to the job”, said Vlad Kardashov, VP of Engineering at iENSO. “By opening our Israel office, we are investing in our Cloud solution and committing to our end-to-end approach to embedded vision systems. As all of our locations continue to grow, we are attracting engineering talent for all critical disciplines”.

The opening of its Israel office follows the establishment of a Ukrainian one in September 2021. The company established a base in Ukraine because it was an important trade and travel corridor between Europe, Asia and the Middle East where its team could operate from a time zone “closer to that of its European customers”. It also noted that “many multinational electronics companies [had] established Ukrainian operations in recent years”.

Ukraine Invest – the country’s investment promotion office for attracting foreign direct investment – was working to position Ukraine as a new alternative for services and engineering support for Europe’s electronics industry.

No official statement has been released on the company’s website following the outbreak of war in Ukraine but iENSO posted an update via social media: “18 months ago, when we made the decision to open a Ukrainian office, we found more than an engineering team. We found a group of strong, kind and caring people. They not only made our company stronger, they made us better people and a better team.

“We found a rich culture of people who loved challenges and worked hard to achieve lofty goals. Today, they are living a significant and terrible challenge and our thoughts are with them. Although our team is safe and secure today, what they are living is completely unacceptable and we support them and the country of Ukraine”.
