Presidents of EMVA and Khronos® Group Discuss Exploratory Group

EMVA President, Dr Chris Yates and The Khronos® Group President, Neil Trevett sit down with MVPro to explain why they've joined forces.

By Joel Davies -

Beginning in March 2021 and continuing for many months, the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) and The Khronos® Group have formed an Exploratory Group probing industry interest in the creation of open, royalty-free API standards for controlling embedded cameras and sensors.

The two non-profit associations represent the machine vision industry and are already joined by major camera manufacturers, silicon vendors, and software developers working on vision and sensor processing.

You can find more information about the EMVA and the Khronos® Group on their respective websites. For more information about the Exploratory Group and how to join, visit the EMVA’s dedicated page.
